This is a nice place to stay right off the highway, very quiet, with very clean bathrooms and a laundry room. Karlos was very helpful. My wife, my 2 kids and I really enjoyed our stay. They have a pool and a small park for children. Even though it's relatively close to the highway, it did not bother our sleep and we sleep on a rooftop tent.
We were evacuating from Hurricane Irma and our hotel did not hold our reservation. All the hotels and campgrounds in a tri-state area were booked and Karlis in the office was able to get us a cabin at their site around midnight. He stayed awake and helped us get settled in. Exceptional service and an awesome, pet friendly facility. We will definitely be back on the future!
Me and my girlfriend stopped by Southern Gates on our way to the Great Smokey Mountains in Tennessee. The owner was super friendly and very welcoming. Sanitary facilities. Could not asked for more for our one night stay. Wish I planned for a second night there.
I was there a few months ago. I know it's very nice and family oriented. it has changed ownership since. And I would not recommend anybody going there anymore. The new owner is very obnoxious even though his hell is very courteous and nice. But the new owner does not care about anything or anybody he just wants to collect the money. And he will get very rude with the customers.
Great little "overnight" park. The new owners are clearly working their fingers to the bone renovating the park. Their efforts show. The bathhouse is exceptionally clean, and I love the Kerouac quotes on the shower and stall doors. Very bohemian. We've only stayed once, but since we go up to the mountains regularly, this place will likely be our normal first night stop in the near future.
